1. General

Recipe Circle is an online service in pilot phase that lets users store, manage, and share recipes in private environments. This privacy policy describes how personal data is processed while using the service and the website.

2. Controller

Recipe Circle (pilot) is established in the Netherlands and acts as the data controller within the meaning of the GDPR.

3. Personal data

Recipe Circle processes the following personal data:

  1. For user accounts:

    • first and last name
    • username
    • preferred language
    • email address
    • password (hashed)
    • record of consent to the terms and privacy policy
    • record of consent for marketing emails
    • payment and subscription status per environment

  2. For paying users additionally:

    • IBAN
    • account holder name

  3. For website visits (non-logged-in visitors):

    • IP address (via server logs)
    • cookies for functional purposes
    • anonymized analytics data

4. Purposes

  • creating and managing accounts
  • delivering the service
  • payment and invoicing
  • functional and service-related communication
  • product improvement
  • marketing communication, if consent is given

5. User content

Users can post content within the service. Including personal data of third parties is not actively encouraged, but is technically possible. Users are responsible for the lawfulness of this content.

6. Retention periods

  • Account data is deleted immediately after termination of the account or environment.
  • Payment data is deleted immediately after termination, unless a legal retention obligation applies.

7. Sharing with third parties

Recipe Circle uses external parties for:

  • hosting
  • email processing
  • payments

These parties are located within the European Union and process data solely on behalf of Recipe Circle.

8. Cookies

Recipe Circle uses functional cookies only, including:

  • cookies for session management
  • cookies for language preferences
  • analytics cookies

In addition, analytics cookies are used to analyze website usage.

9. User rights

Users can exercise their GDPR rights via the account settings, including access, correction, and deletion of personal data.

10. Changes

This privacy policy may be updated. The most recent version is always available via the Recipe Circle website.
